Medical Receptionist

Telegraph Road Clinic is a fast-paced and professional GP-owned practice operating in the Bracken Ridge Area with an outstanding team culture focused on providing excellent results and the best patient care. We are seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our team on a casual basis to provide direct clinical and administrative support to our GP’s and Allied Health Professionals. Applicants should maintain a flexible weekday for a variety of different shifts. Up to 24-32 hours of work a week will be available. 

Applicants must be highly attentive, able to work under pressure and able complete tasks accurately and efficiently. The Practice Manager has an open-door policy to ensure open communication and collaboration amongst the staff team and is flexible to accommodate university commitments. Free parking is available at the Bracken Ridge Shopping Plaza.

The primary duties of the role include:

• Greeting and checking-in patients entering the practice and registering new patients.
• Liaising with patients and medical professionals via telephone and email.
• Filing, faxing, mailing and labelling documents, letters and results.
• Managing billing and payment settlements. 
• Working with Medicare batching.
• Maintaining the practice space and resetting and restocking consult rooms.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A proactive and fast learner able to demonstrate initiative & work in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous experience in an administrative role is not required but will be looked upon favourably.
