Frankston Eye and Laser Centre is a specialist ophthalmology practice with a friendly dedicated team, super modern facilities in new purpose-built rooms, and easy on-site parking.
We are seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist for a permanent position, (4 or 5 days with flexibility for leave cover), to assist our admin team looking after our three lovely specialist eye surgeons. You will be very reliable and a good team player, with a positive, kind, and friendly attitude, and the ability to provide an exceptional standard of care to all patients, young and elderly. This role would suit someone who lives locally and is looking for a secure position with the potential to grow their career further.
Main Responsibilities
- Providing exceptional front reception services and support to patients during our busy consulting clinics
- Handling incoming calls, relaying accurate messages
- Attending to emails, faxes and incoming mail
- Processing, scanning and filing of documents with accuracy and attention to detail
- Scheduling appointments, assisting with operation bookings and associated documentation
- Patient invoicing and payments, including Medicare and DVA transmissions
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Medical Receptionist, either GP or specialist rooms
- Excellent written and verbal communication with professional phone manner
- Professional and neat presentation – uniform supplied
- Knowledge of private billing for medical rooms, either GP or specialist
- Sound general medical industry knowledge and applicable medical terminology
- Good computer skills
Desirable but not essential:
- Experience using Genie practice software
- Experience working in an ophthalmology practice
