Geelong Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine is looking for an experienced receptionist to join our fantastic team that provides exceptional care to our patients.
This is a part-time position with the possibility for growth.
Currently offering 3-4 days. Mon-Wed or Mon-Thurs. 9:00am to 5:00pm
The successful applicant must have a can-do attitude and great communication skills and be an excellent team player.
You will play a crucial part in ensuring the efficient and organised operation of our busy specialist medical practice, that operates across several sites.
Our practice is fully accredited, a friendly family-orientated environment with supportive and friendly staff.
We would love you to have:
- Previous experience in a General Practice or Specialist setting
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Highly motivated, enthusiastic and flexible
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with Zedmed software (preferred but not essential)
- Ability to learn and operate new software quickly and efficiently
- Professional and personable phone manner
- Attention to detail
- Proficient computer skills
- Experience with dictation and typing of correspondence
- Must have the ability to cope with a fast-paced environment
Tasks & responsibilities
- Reception work including meeting and greeting patients upon arrival, making appointments, and processing patients payments
- Conduct billing using, Medicare, DVA and private invoicing
- Accept and arrange Telehealth appointments
- Managing the Doctor’s appointment schedules across several sites
- Interpret, assess and manage patient enquires to achieve acceptable outcomes
- Receive electronic and hard-copy medical correspondence, and manage to ensure received and forwarded for further management
- Undertake management of tasks as directed by doctors and the practice manager
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with hospitals/anaesthetists/assistant surgeons, prosthetic companies, etc
- Scanning, filing and any other duties as directed by the Practice Manager
- Open and close clinic, ensuring secure integrity of the practice
Prior medical or administration experience is essential. Rates of pay are in accordance with the Award and commensurate with experience.
