Medical Receptionist

GAALS stands for Gynaecology and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery, Brisbane.  We are a private medical practice for women of all ages, specialising in gynaecological services and minimally invasive procedures.  We aim to create an environment of support, and encourage women to understand their bodies and feel comfortable talking about their health issues. 

We work from beautiful, modern, consulting rooms based at the Greenslopes Private Hospital.

As Medical Receptionist, you are the first point of contact for our patients, referring general practitioners (GPs), specialists and other service providers.  

Your job is to:

• help patients to feel welcome and comfortable at GAALS
• assist patients to understand and access the services we provide
• manage all appointments and coordinate patient invoicing and reimbursements
• manage tasks, diaries and schedules
• monitor and respond to emails and other correspondence
• liaise with other medical professionals and work closely with your colleagues, as part of our small team.

• familiar with common questions about medical billing, Medicare and health fund processes
• comfortable using common office applications
• willing to learn new skills and tasks.

We need you to have previous experience as a Medical Receptionist, and we prefer experience in specialist medical practices. We use common office and medical practice management software, and will provide the training and support you need to be successful in the role.

• $31 – $38 per hour + superannuation, to match your skills and experience
