Responsibilities
- Welcoming patients in a professional and courteous manner
- Answering phone calls and take messages
- Schedule patient appointments and follow up communication
- Accurately entering patients’ data into medical software called Genie Solutions
- Patient billing and process Medicare and Private Health claims
- Emailing, scanning, faxing and filing
- Requesting urgent investigation results for clinic
- Ordering stock
- Petty cash handling
- Liaising with hospitals and other medical practices regarding referrals, results and correspondence
- Maintaining practice and patients' privacy and confidentiality
- Adhering to relevant health and safety standards
- Other administrative tasks
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Prior experience as a Medical Receptionist
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in Genie Solutions preferred
- Understanding of common medical terminology
- Proficient computer literacy skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise efficiently
- Punctuality, reliability, and flexibility
- Empathy and a drive to make a positive difference
