We have an amazing role for a highly organized and efficient Medical Receptionist and Administrator to join the team of a recently established Neurosurgeon in his Medical practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the front desk operations, scheduling appointments, and providing administrative support to ensure the smooth functioning of the clinic.
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are essential in this role, as you will be the first point of contact for patients and will assist in maintaining patient records and managing billing inquiries.

Responsibilities will include:
- Opening and closing preparations to the reception and rooms for consulting
- Meet and greet patients, visitors and general reception duties
- Booking appointments for consultation procedures
- Answering and screening telephone calls, follow up to enquiries etc
- Arranging hospital operating lists involving : (i) liaising with hospitals, anaesthetists, assistants, (ii) communicating list information to hospitals and all other stakeholders (iii) completing and forwarding necessary paperwork to hospitals and patients and arranging postoperative appointments;
- Billings (i) providing surgery quotes to patients (ii) invoicing patients for procedures (iii) handling of cash, EFTPOS and other payments from patients, ensuring patient payment information is accurate and up to date;(iv) liaising with private health insurance companies, work cover, TAC and Medicare for payment of outstanding bills;
- Maintaining electronic patient files;
- Monitoring levels of stationary and ordering replacements where required;
- Ordering medical items as directed;
- Receive and sort daily mail/deliveries/couriers;
- Audio typing
- Maintaining the surgeon's diary
- Other ad hoc duties as required
- 3 -5 years prior experience working in a medical office setting would be advantageous
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with electronic medical records and scheduling software.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and external contacts.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and understanding of Medicare and Insurance procedures preferred.

Located at the Cabrini Hospital, this role could also be suitable for someone who is looking for 4 days a week permanent part-time, or one a day work from home situtation full time. Hours would be flexible on some days but generally 8.00am to 5.00pm.
