Job Description: Quay Appointments are seeking skilled and compassionate Medical Receptionist for an Expression of interest. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations at front desk, providing exceptional customer service to patients, and supporting administrative functions within healthcare facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage appointment calendars efficiently.
- Register patients by collecting demographic and insurance information accurately.
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorisations or referrals as required.
- Direct patients to appropriate departments or healthcare professionals as needed.
- Maintain patient records and update information in electronic health records (EHR) system accurately.
- Handle patient inquiries, requests, and concerns promptly and courteously.
- Process billing and insurance claims, including collecting co-payments and processing payments.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the reception area and waiting room.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and data entry as needed.
- Adhere to confidentiality and privacy policies in handling patient information.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred.
- Proficiency in using computer systems, electronic health records (EHR), and scheduling software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on customer service.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance billing procedures, and HIPAA regulations preferred.
