The practice provides top-quality affordable healthcare to a large number of vulnerable patients, and has special interests in Drug and Alcohol, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health, Mental Health and LGBTQIA* Health.

Our location at Southpoint on Anketell Street means that we are within easy access to public transport and public parking.
We are looking for a Medical Receptionist to support the Practice Manager. The Practice Manager is responsible for all the administrative, financial and IT services needed by doctors, as well as the premises from which doctors operate.
Experience with General Practice would be highly desirable.
We are looking for a person who has had some employment experience. This could be as a receptionist in a general practice but experience in any customer focused industry would be relevant.
The successful candidate will have the ability to mix with a wide variety of people, exceptional customer service skills, good computer skills and the enthusiasm and energy to take on a new job. The ability to multi-task, initiative and the ability to make decisions and take on responsibility would be some of the qualities we are looking for in the successful candidate.
The job is a richly rewarding one at both a personal and professional level. It involves daily contact with doctors, patients and other health care professionals. It is also a learning experience focused on the Australian health care system and specialised medical software.
The following Criteria is essential
- Proven willingness to learn, with an interest in Medical / General practice, specifically with an interest in providing services to marginalized and disadvantaged communities.
2. Demonstrated computer literacy, The Practice uses Best Practice medical Software so this would be desirable
3. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, a positive can-do attitude.
4. Proven experience answering telephone calls and providing exceptional customer service.
5. Ability and commitment to work effectively within a team environment
The role is flexible and can be Part time (3 to 4 days per week) or Full time with rotating Saturdays on a roster with other members of the reception team.
