We are seeking a new team member to undertake medical administration duties on a part-time basis (for example: school hours or 16-24 hours per week) within the administration team at Shoulder2Hand Orthopaedics and Hand Clinic.
The Practice. The practice operates from 8am – 4:30pm, Monday to Thursday and 8am -2.30pm on Fridays. Our working environment is focused principally on our patients and as such is quiet, caring and friendly. We are based in Woden, close to public transport and ample parking.
The clinic is at times extremely busy with 4 practitioners having clinics on various days across the week.
Candidate skills. Essential to this role is superior customer service skills. The successful candidate will need to be empathetic and understanding towards our patients. Ideally, the successful applicant is seeking long term stable employment and will also have had experience in medical administration, or customer service roles.
The successful candidate will need to be proactive, with very good time management skills.
Team member duties. The new team member will report to the practice manager and will work as part of a small administrative team. Team member duties include:
- Welcome patients and visitors
- Make patient appointments (including processing referrals), billing and banking
- Ensure Patient files and details are up to date and accurate
- Answer & respond to correspondence & enquiries, including phone and emails
- Liaise with Hospitals, Practitioners and Health Funds
- General administrative duties as needed
- Operate medical software (ideally experienced in Genie/Gentu or similar)
