Hunter OMS is a busy specialist practice with 3 oral maxillo-facial surgeons.

The successful applicant will form a close working relationship with both the clinical and administrative teams and be responsible for the delivery of high quality clinical and customer service to patients.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Meeting and greeting all patients to the practice
- Managing patient consulting sessions
- Patient billing, receipting and on line claiming to Medicare.
- Following up approvals for worker's compensation, third party approvals for patient appointments.
- Management and preparation of patient files and records for all clinics, ensuring all results, referrals and other necessary documentation is ready for patient consultation.
- Reconciliation of banking and settlement of EFTPOS machines at end of day
- Ensuring surgical prepayments are collected by appropriate time frame
- General office duties including processing all incoming emails
- Scanning and filing medical records in a mostly paperless practice
- Other duties as required by management
Required knowledge and skills
- Experience in a health care setting desirable but not essential (on the job training provided).
- Willingness to learn
- Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills

- Strong commitment to task completion and follow up
- Ability to work autonomously under minimal supervision
- Commitment to being part of a team (absolutely essential)
- Outstanding people skills with the ability to relate well to patients, health care professionals and to foster team relationships.
- Excellent computing skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) (essential)
- Experience in on line claiming and chasing approvals for DVA, worker's compensation consultations. (desirable)
- Experience in the use of Gentu/Blue Chip Medical Software or other medical software program (highly regarded)
- Ability to remain calm in a busy and varied work environment with competing demands and deadlines.
