Position Overview: You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our patients receive exceptional care from the moment they walk through the door. You will be the first point of contact for our patients and for referring doctors (general practitioners). You will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, managing patient appointments and communicating with clinical staff. We will provide training in our office by experienced staff. We have free parking on site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist patients in a warm and professional manner.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the appointment book.
- Verify patient information and insurance details accurately.
- Answer phone calls, address inquiries, and forward to appropriate staff.
- Bill and record patient payments.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk area.
- Ensure that all patient information is handled with strict confidentiality.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth patient flow.
- Assist in patient registration and updating medical records.
- Perform other administrative tasks as needed.
Essential Criteria:
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach.
- Strong customer service skills and excellent communication.
- Experience with or ability to learn electronic health record systems (Genie).
- Communicate well with GPs and other specialists
- Must have an excellent phone manner
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Ability to maintain professionalism and composure in a busy environment.
- Ability to work well in a team
- Ability to cover annual and sick leave as required
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous experience in a Medical receptionist or administrative role
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
