About us:
Our modern medical centre requires a permanent part-time receptionist. Our reception team plays a key role in the successful delivery of care for our patients at The Breast Centre. As you will be the first point of contact for patients, you will be someone who is patient-focused, courteous and understanding. The clinic operates five days per week from 7am to 5.30pm, and our team of receptionists work regular rotating shifts.
The Breast Centre has been leading the way in breast care for 35 years as Newcastle’s only one-stop, same day centre for the diagnosis and treatment of breast problems. Since 2012 we have also catered to patients with endocrine and kidney problems. Our mission to make life easier for all our patients, during what can be a difficult and stressful time, by providing the highest level of specialised care in one location. In addition to our support services and initiatives, we are committed to fast response times, with newly diagnosed patients often seen within 24 hours of a referral and prompt communication provided back to the many referring doctors.
The role:
To support the day to day operations of the medical centre by providing efficient front desk reception services including greeting patients, booking appointments, answering the telephone, raising accounts, data entry, preparing doctors’ rooms, filing, photocopying, checking stock and ordering supplies, collecting mail, typing correspondence, and other administrative duties.
Your skills and experience:
We are looking for someone who has experience working in a fast-paced general practice or specialist medical clinic environment. You will be enthusiastic with an outgoing personality and the ability to work well in a team. You will be able to adapt and learn new skills quickly, with good listening skills and attention to detail. You will be a problem solver with the ability to prioritise and organise workflow effectively. You will demonstrate empathy and compassion, and help to create a calm and supportive environment for our patients, staff and doctors.
*Basic typing skills are required.
*Experience with Genie software is highly regarded.
