We are looking for an enthusiastic, professional, and friendly Part-Time with view to Full Time Medical Receptionist/Administrative Assistantto join our busy leading Ophthalmic Practice located in Sydney CBD close to public transport. You will be joining our team of dedicated Ophthalmologists and support staff.
The Role:
This is a part time with view to full time position in the receptionist team. As a successful candidate, you will work as a Medical Receptionist – performing receptionist duties, as well as administrative duties.
You will have pride in being a face of our company and your professional, helpful and caring approach will support our commitment to an excellent patient experience. You will be able to work independently but always within a team and your flexibility and willingness to help out and to do what is required to be done will contribute to your success in this role.
The ideal applicant will be willing to grow with our practice and expand on their knowledge and skills. We are looking for a candidate who is looking for a long term commitment, who loves a challenge and who thrives in a busy, fast paced environment. No two days are the same.
Responsibilities:
- Welcoming patients into the clinic.
- Manage consultation bookings: Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
- Receive and triage telephone calls, emails and faxes from patients and medical practitioners.
- Process patient payments including Medicare claims.
- End of day bank reconciliation
- Book hospital procedural appointments as directed.
- Flexible to cover holidays & when staff are away.
Essential skills required:
- Good knowledge of computer (MS Word, Excel with good typing speed).
- Committed to excellent patient care and customer service.
- High level of organisational skills involving time management, accuracy and attention to detail, multi-tasking and efficiency.
- Can work autonomously and in a team environment
- Familiar with Best Practice VIP software or any electronic medical software an advantage.

- A commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- Excellent telephone skills with a professional, caring, friendly and helpful approach.
- An excellent ability and willingness to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Pride in the quality and accuracy of your work with a very high attention to detail.

- A strong work ethic, integrity, commitment and enthusiasm to contribute to a small team as well as to the business.
- Quick and accurate keyboard skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- A professional standard of personal presentation.
Remuneration negotiable based on skills/experience.
