About the role
The Medico Legal Administrator plays a key role in the delivery of exceptional service to the Legal Counsel – Medico Legal and within Mater. This role will be maximum term part time 16 hours per week for 9 weeks to cover leave, commencing 1st July.
The core function of the role is to provide the Legal Counsel with a high level of assistance in the form of coordination, including the provision and management of Medico Legal support services. This involves the preparation and dissemination of relevant material, and to liaise on behalf of the Legal Counsel – Medico Legal with a range of Hospital personnel at all levels, as well as external stakeholders and other statutory bodies. Much of the material prepared will be both voluminous and confidential in nature, ensuring work performed is exceptional, every time.
Salary range: $35.45 - $39.62 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900
What you’ll be doing
- Actively partner with consumers and patients, as well as interprofessional colleagues, to support service and operational objectives that provide an exceptional experience and outcomes, every time
- Support the coordination of meetings and events, recording and distributing agendas and meeting minutes with clearly articulated action items
- Liaise directly with statutory and other government departments, including but not limited to the Health Minister’s Office, Office of Health Ombudsman, Office of the State Coroner, Anti-Discrimination Commission, the Privacy Commissioner’s office, AHPRA and Queensland Police, receiving incoming feedback and prioritising same, exercising discretion for follow up, and preparing any correspondence which might result from such context
- Format submissions, statements, letters, reports, and other documents as directed by the Legal Counsel - Medico Legal
- Work with a degree of autonomy, seeking approval before deviating from procedure or operating guidelines
- Perform tasks in the required standard and result and within prescribed timeframes
About you
- Proven experience working in a team within the Medical/Healthcare profession desirable
- The ability to balance conflicting demands within tight timeframes
- Demonstrated ability to operate both in a team environment and autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning and strong listening and decision making skills
- Deliver a patient centric approach and have a passion for delivering an exceptional experience
- Possess excellent written, verbal and communication skills
