Overview
Joining the Rural & Remote Inpatient Mental Health Unit based at Glenside Health Services, you will support the Nurse Unit Manager in nursing leadership and overseeing the provision of nursing care within the Inpatient unit. Promoting continuity and consistency of care, you will ensure a comprehensive and integrated range of evidence-based, recovery-oriented services that are appropriate to the needs of consumers and the local community. You will engage in activities such as performance management processes, recruitment, staffing, leave management, rostering, work allocation and attendance management, financial and supplies planning and monitoring. Maintaining cooperative and productive working relationships within all members of the Mental Health team, you will support and work collaboratively with less experienced staff. Supporting change management processes, you will act to resolve local and immediate nursing care or service delivery problems. You will accept accountability for your own practice standards, activities delegated to others and for the guidance and development of staff.
You must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold a current practicing certificate, along with a relevant postgraduate qualification in Mental Health practice. This will supported by your experience in management and leadership roles, providing leadership, supervision and direction to student nurses, Enrolled Nurses and less experienced Registered Nurses and clinicians. Demonstrating a strong commitment to meeting the needs of consumers in the Mental Health service, you will bring the ability to be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within the healthcare setting.
