About the role
Mental Health Peer workers are individuals who identify as having a lived or living experience of Mental Health challenges. The Mental Health Peer Cadetship is a 10-month paid employment opportunity for people with Mental Health lived experience who are also studying the Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work.

Your duties include:
- Actively participating in team & cadet meetings, coaching, mentoring and supervision,
- Showing commitment to practice self-care and self-reflection
- Being able to shadow mentors in various community settings
- Respecting and having dignity when building peer relationships

Our ideal candidate:
- Enrolled in Certificate IV Mental Health Peer Work with proof of enrolment
- A willingness to draw on your own Mental Health challenges and draw upon your wellbeing journey to create connections with others
- Flexibility to work from various sites within Western/Northern Melbourne
All appointments are made subject to a satisfactory Police Check, a Working With Children Check (WWCC), complete a Statutory Declaration, evidence of legal rights to work in Australia, and evidence of vaccination against COVID-19 (3 doses).
