Form of workMZ Mining is a mineral sands mining company focused on the production of heavy mineral concentrate (HMC) in the Murray Basin in South Australia. The Company’s principal asset is the Mindarie Mineral Sands Project located 150km east of Adelaide in the Mallee region of South Australia with a Head Office in Adelaide.
MZ Mining has now commenced production. This role, based at the Mindarie site and reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, provides the opportunity to be part of the mining team in this exciting project.
About the Role:
Provide plans and technical input to the mining team supporting the site to meet performance targets and utilizing your initiative to seek out ways of ensuring continuous improvements are made.
- Promote a safe, healthy, cooperative and productive work environment.
- Provide robust mine planning services to meet short- and long-term production targets.
- Daily mine inspection to review production and safety conditions and address specific mining issues.
- Lead the daily mine production meeting and review the day's plan.
- Daily validation of contractor(s) report against work performed.
- Carry out planning, design and scheduling activities for production and associated aspects of the mine.
- Management of tails dams capacity for timely mine progression.
- Communicate with stakeholders to ensure all levels of the mine plans and schedules are interpreted accurately.
- Monitor and report on performance against medium term plans in line with the mining budget.
- Grade variance monitoring and contingency planning.
You Will Have:
- A Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 3 years post graduate experience.
- Experience working in open cut mine environments, with mineral sands experience highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail
- Excellent communication and engagement skills with experience interacting with multi-discipline technical teams and acting as a strong team player.
- Experience working with mine planning tools. Experience with Deswik CAD highly regarded. Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization and deliver content and reports in the right format for your audience.
