About the role
As Australia's fifth-largest iron ore producer, MinRes operates three key hubs in Western Australia: Yilgarn, Pilbara, and Ashburton. At our Yilgarn Hub, you will work across five open-pit mines, including Windarling, Mt. Jackson, Deception, Koolyanobbing, and Parker Range.
Reporting to the Mining Superintendent, you will work an 8:6 (days) and 7:7 (nights) roster, overseeing daily mining operations with a focus on the safe and efficient extraction of minerals.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing leadership and support to your team, whilst ensuring that work is delivered in line with schedules and mine plans.
- Contributing to the development of systems, standards, processes, and procedures for standardised work management.
- Reviewing plans, performance, and reports to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Driving an engaged safety culture and ensuring full compliance with statutory regulations and requirements in all activities.
- Monitoring and evaluating the performance of work crews, and providing training, mentoring, and coaching as necessary.
What you’ll bring to the team
You will have a strong background in open-pit mining production environments and be well-versed in supervisory positions.
Other key skills, experience, and qualifications:
- A strong working knowledge of mine safety procedures and regulations.
- Eligible to meet the requirements to attend a Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor Course.
- Whilst not essential, a Quarry Manager's Certificate of Competency will be highly regarded.
