The Planning, Building & Laws department comprises of Development Planning, BPi and Municipal Laws & Public Assets. Each team within the department manages an area of approvals, registration and statutory compliance.
Municipal Laws & Public Assets department is recruiting for a Business Support Officer to assist with the delivery of Municipal Laws and Public Asset Protection services in an efficient and professional manner and within Council’s established parameters of legal obligation, budgetary requirement, policy and practice.
The role:
- Participate in the day-to-day administrative functions of the Municipal LawsBusiness Support Unit ensuring that it maintains excellence in customer service.
- Undertake administrative procedures to ensure that the animal register is maintained, issue renewals of animal registrations yearly, support animal management
Issue a range of permits including;
- Street furniture and advertising signs
- Accessible parking
- Excess animals
- Busking
- Footpath Trading
- Asset Protection Permits
- Works
Within Road Reserve Consents.
- Undertake invoicing and purchasing administration.
- Maintain Council’s Customer Requests Management (CRM) system.
- Undertake administrative procedures to support animal management. 7. Undertake appropriate records management procedures.
Skills, experience and certificates:
- Post-secondary qualifications in Administration (minimum Certificate III in Business Administration), or similar discipline.
- Competent in the use of computers for daily duties and the ability to use MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel and SharePoint, CM9 (Council’s record Management System) CRM (Customer Request Management System)
- Sound numeracy and literacy skills.
- Excellent Time Management skills.
- Ability to communicate both written and oral, in a clear and concise manner
- Self-motivated, customer focus and ability to solve problems
