About the Role:
Due to sustained growth and a desire to continuously improve, the need for a qualified and experienced Logistics Manager is required to assess, implement, and oversee the logistics function. Brisbane based, this is a newly created role complimenting the National Operations Manager & requires the right individual to lead functional teams in processes, procedures, and disciplines within a fast paced, safety and customer first environment. Ensuring maximised asset utilisation, with a focus on the reduction of operating costs across both inbound and outbound distribution, the key functions of this role include (but are not limited to):
- Fleet Management – Full review of current fleet management systems and processes, includes the assessment of shipping methods, routing of fleet / carriers and negotiation of rates.
- Schedule and track all in-bound and outbound shipments for both global and national distribution requirements
- Liaise with Shipping, multiple internal departments daily, ensuring optimisation across relevant business units and warehouse locations.
- Data Driven Decisions – Capture and maintain metrics for analytical assessment and monitoring of performance and productivity.
- Upholding the existing customer first ethos, ensure that customer expectations are met in line with delivery dates and planning schedules.
- Develop and lead a Logistics team nationwide, monitor performance and recording of inventory management.
- Leadership and steady guidance are critical for the logistics team, establish regular KPI reviews and recruitment as required.
Your Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrate a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar environment.
- Be a self-driven performer who thrives both leading and as part of a team being prepared to get your hands dirty when needed.
- An ability to communicate, lead projects and liaise with management and staff across all aspects of the business.
- Proven experience….with examples of problem solving and analytical skills resulting in optimised outcomes.
- High level written & verbal communications.
- Well-equipped in dealing with technology including logistics software.
