What does the job look like?
Linfox partners with iconic multi-modal transport service providers & customers across both Road & Rail operations, to provide competitive supply chain solutions nationally. Our business continues to invest in its people and resources, enabling it to provide innovative and comprehensive long distance supply chain solutions throughout Australia. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated National Manager for our Road Operations, who shares and can deliver our vision of operational excellence and shape the future of our logistics business.
Reporting to the General Manager of Operations, this role is tasked with managing the Road Operations Team to deliver safety, compliance, service, cost and continuous improvement in line with customer and internal expectations. Further, the role must ensure the road operations deliver an acceptable commercial return and adhere to all Linfox policies and procedures and relevant legislation while delivering on customer expectations. Key areas:
- Ensure agreed measures for profitability and other key performance indicators on the customer’s contractual requirements and KPIs for each contract, Region, lane, etc
- Maintain and develop existing customer relationships with the aim to increase business from existing customers
- Continually seek synergies within the national operations whereby improvement initiatives can be implemented offering cost savings to both Linfox and the customer(s)
- Set operating budgets for the National Operation in conjunction with the General Manager and lead operational teams to deliver the expected plan
- Oversee operational teams to utilise labour and fleet in the most effective manner and ensure compliance with any relevant industrial instruments
- Communicate Intermodal’s strategic priorities; ensuring own team is clear on how this translates to individual roles and teams
Are you the one?
- Detailed knowledge of logistics management, gained through at least five years of operational experience
- Prior experience working in logistics and the transport industry at a senior or National level
- Good working knowledge of relevant industrial instruments
- An understanding of P&L and budget processes plus an ability to influence others
- Ability to Build and maintain a high-performance team
