We have a key full-time, permanent position available for a highly self-motivated, technical, driven and client focused National Specification Manager (NSM). Occasional travel across Australia will be required. Applicants should be able to work well in a small team, being part of a larger global organization. This role can be based in Queensland, New South Wales or Victoria and is available as a hybrid model of WFH and in the office.
EJ is the world's leading designer & manufacturer of high-quality underground access solutions i.e. covers and frames, galvanized gratings and other associated municipal & infrastructure products.
In this pivotal role, you will drive increased sales of EJ products through the development of relationships with engineers, architects, utility authorities, councils and contractors. The NSM will provide product technical support in the areas of design, specification, documentation, installation, and issue resolution, whilst also contributing to the product development process through idea generation utilising a stage gate process, and where required first principles engineering and estimating.
Key to this positions objective is the cultivation and facilitation of relationships with organisations such as Professional Engineering bodies e.g. Engineers Australia, IPWEA, AHSCA, Architects and Designers e.g. AIA, DIA, and Civil and Commercial Contractors, by visiting relevant people and attending industry events to solidify and create long-term partnerships.

This role will report to the General Manager.
Principle Duties and responsibilities
- Specification: Contribute to the sales pipeline through specification of key projects, handing over to sales teams and supporting through this process. Drive increased awareness of EJ products through CPD presentations,
- Industry Events: Identifying, evaluating, attending and coordinating industry events.
- Technical Support & Compliance: Provide product technical support that adheres to quality benchmarks, including accurate design, specification, and documentation. Ensure all offerings follow industry standards and certifications.
- Quality Assurance: Uphold and promote the quality standards of EJ products throughout all stages of the project lifecycle, ensuring that specifications meet or exceed customer and industry expectations.
- Customer Management: Ensure queries and sales leads are responded to in a timely manner. Execute an effective customer call cycle.
- Customer Management for Quality: Establish quality-centric relationships with engineers, architects, and builders, ensuring that their specifications align with the superior quality of EJ products.
- Customer Retention and Acquisition: Establish strong relationships with engineers and architects and pursue new customer acquisition.
- Quality in Quotations: Ensure that all quotations are prepared in strict adherence to EJ's quality and pricing guidelines, using verified and reliable data.
- Quality Audits: Regularly review customer and project feedback to identify opportunities for quality improvement. Relay this information to appropriate departments for action.
- Quality Training and Development: Contribute to internal training and development initiatives that promote quality awareness and compliance among staff.
- Global Product Introduction: Along with the senior team review and select appropriate solutions available from our colleagues in international markets, identifying opportunities to compliment our local range. Including creating internal team training plans and tools.
