The Role
Reporting to the GM – Sales & Marketing the National Tender Manager is a critical role for the business. You will be responsible for taking the national lead in the preparation and submission of tenders for various long and short term-term commercial contracts. Specifically working across the construction, building, mining, industrial, heavy industry, government, gas, energy and utility sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead cross-functional teams to coordinate the preparation, review, and submission of compelling and competitive tender submissions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and organisational policies throughout the tender process.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to enhance tender success rates.
- Analyse and interpret tender specifications, commercial terms, and conditions, providing summary guidance to internal teams on bid requirements and potential risks.
- Collaborate with multiple departments to develop accurate response and timely tender submissions.
- Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the tender management process.
- Prepare and present regular reports to senior management, summarising tender activities, outcomes, and areas for improvement.
- Grow internal submission content library
- Provide leadership and training for team members as required.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven track record of leading and overseeing the end-to-end tender management process on a national level, have exceptional relationship-building skills to establish and maintain strong connections with stakeholders contributing to successful tender outcomes. The business has strong growth aspirations and you will demonstrate a high level of intellectual rigour, energy and passion in what you undertake.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Over 5 years’ experience in tender drafting and management for either major projects or ongoing preferred supply agreements within the construction / building, mining, government, heavy industry, gas, industrial, energy sectors
- Familiarity with HSEQ (SHEQ) basics and compliance requirements for tender prequalification’s and to be able to coordinate with relevant regional SHEQ advisers
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance in tender submissions
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Strong project management skills to lead cross functional teams, coordinate the end-to-end tender process, and ensure timely and high-quality submissions
- Outstanding attention to details and diligence with strong time management and organisational skills
- Advanced skills in office computing applications
- High level of resilience, energy and intrinsic motivation
- Tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline are mandatory
