  • Base Salary $117,116 + 17% superannuation
About the opportunityThe Faculty of Medicine and Health Research Tender and Consultancy Manager provides high-level strategic and managerial coordination of domestic and international tender bid development, consultancy projects, and healthcare evaluations (HTA). They will liaise closely with key Centres, Networks and Schools within the Faculty, such as the NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre (CTC) and the Menzies Centre for Health Policy and Economics (MCHPE), and with the Research Portfolio to ensure effective pre- and post-award management of research tenders.The role is the primary contact within Faculty for research tenders and Consultancy opportunities, and develops and maintains systems, materials and procedures that support FMH related Tender and Consultancy activities, ensuring alignment with university requirements.The Faculty of Medicine and Health is a comprehensive research-intensive Faculty. Employing over six thousand staff, and in excess of $1.3 billion in research income, the faculty is one of the largest in the Southern Hemisphere. Bringing together the areas of dentistry, health sciences, medical sciences, medicine, nursing and midwifery, pharmacy and public health to facilitate a multidisciplinary approach to solving modern day healthcare problems.We are in a period of exciting and significant investment in our Faculty of Medicine and Health and in order to deliver on the University's ambitious strategic plan, we are seeking a Tender and Consultancy Manager within the Research Enterprise and Partnerships team. The incumbent will provide high-level strategic and managerial coordination of domestic and international tender bid development, consultancy projects, and healthcare evaluations (HTA)Learn more about our .Your key responsibilities will be to:
  • lead and contribute to the strategic direction of Tender and Consultancy work including selection and prioritisation of new business opportunities to facilitate growth
  • strategically establish and manage relationships internally and externally with key stakeholders to ensure alliances and reporting requirements are maintained, including with funding bodies
  • coordinate a program of researcher development activities that prepare and encourage researchers to seek out opportunities
  • support applicants in the development of submissions and management of awarded projects
  • undertake ad-hoc projects and other activities.
About you
  • hold relevant qualification and relevant experience in related field
  • excellent time, project, and workload management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise effectively, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and achieve required outcomes
  • excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with sound negotiating skills and a demonstrated level of tact and discretion in dealing with day-to-day operational matters
  • accuracy, attention to detail and highly organised. Planning and analysis skills together with the ability to work according to strict deadlines and manage various demands.
  • experience managing budgets and controlling income and expenditure.
  • experience managing multiple project streams with diverse key internal/external stakeholders, and/or leading large complex and/or change management projects.
  • demonstrated experience in submitting proposals for funding and being able to work independently and as part of a team.
