Energy Queensland has two permanent opportunities for a Network Development Engineer located at either Rockhampton, Townsville, Cairns, Toowoomba, Brisbane (Newstead).
About your new role:
You will engage in comprehensive engineering analysis and network modelling to bolster strategic planning and development for both sub-transmission and distribution networks. Your analytical prowess will be key in reviewing complex network data, anticipating customer needs and forecasting load/renewable growth to develop area plans that meet immediate and long-term strategic requirements for both the network and customers.
You will provide expert advice and ensure the successful delivery of annual planning reports and distribution loss factor reports, crucial to meet our regulatory obligations.
You will also be instrumental in reviewing and updating network planning policies and standards, keeping them in sync with emerging network risks, constraints, and relevant Australian Standards.
The position has been evaluated as Professional & Managerial Grade Two (PM2). The remuneration for your new role is from $129k plus 12.75% super for a 9-day fortnight and from $146k plus 12.75% super for a 10-day fortnight. The level of payment will be subject to an assessment of the successful applicant’s knowledge, skills and competencies that are required in this position. Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Energy Queensland Union Collective Agreement 2020.

About you:
You are equipped with a bachelor’s degree in engineering and are actively working towards planning to pursue the Registered Professional Engineering of Queensland (RPEQ) certification.
You possess a keen engineering mind and a commitment to health safety and environmental standards. Your ability to manage sensitive information confidentially aligns with Energy Queensland’s ring-fencing parameters.
You have wide-ranging communication ability, along with well-developed inter-personal and negotiating skills and sound capabilities in teamwork.
As a mentor, you will elevate the capabilities of less experienced engineers, guiding them with supervision, coaching, and mentoring. Your collaborative spirit and dedication to compliance with legislation and practices make you an ideal fit for fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
