Our Network Engineer works closely with key stakeholders, within Myer and externally, to deliver the service/design improvements and life cycle refresh initiatives for data and network services across Myer Data Centres, Head office, Cloud infrastructure and National store network and distribution centres. You will work primarily with Architects, Project Managers, Operations, external parties, and other Myer’s internal teams.

About the Opportunity:
Support the development of the Myer network strategy, design and implementation of selected technologies into the existing network landscape with the ability to articulate, guide and oversee the finer details of network implementation with external parties within the project lifecycle.
Provide oversight and ownership of life cycle management and supportability for Myer IT network infrastructure
Working with IT Architecture team to understand architecture artefacts and map them to detailed designs provided by solution integrators to ensure alignment in implementing projects.
Work on all products and technologies that deliver voice, video, and data services through wired and wireless mediums of communication.
Working with various stakeholders within Myer and outside of IT to understand business requirements and translate them into designs, functional and non-functional requirements.
Provide guidance, recommendations and ad hoc reporting on network hygiene, health, and areas for improvement within Myer’s network infrastructure
Support IT Operations to ensure governance of network/telecommunications managed services providers and their adherence to service performance, scope and compliance obligations
Be able to report back on project challenges and seek resolutions independently and through different teams at Myer.
Be a technical escalation point/sounding board to BAU teams for high priority incidents
About You:
4+ years’ experience in the IT industry and working large scale complex infrastructure, preferably some experience working in the Australian IT industry
Experience in working with Solution integrators, Telcos, and other service providers.
Knowledge of enterprise Ethernet, VLANs and L2/L3 Switching & Routing.
Understand the concept of underlay and overlay networking.
Capable of traffic engineering at different layers of the network.
Strong troubleshooting skills across networks and cloud platforms.
Ability to ensure privacy regulations are understood and implemented.
Being mindful of applying security principles to network landscape that is well integrated during project inception.
Experience in LAN, WLAN, WAN/SDWAN, DCLAN, and Cloud networking technologies.
Experience with conducting network migrations all scales and complexity.
Excellent communication skills with ability to articulate solutions clearly and concisely; express strategic and tactical thinking in solving network problems.
Able to work through ITIL service desk technologies; attending CABs and gaining approvals for implementation work.
Able to assist with onsite and cloud installations of new equipment.
Strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills
Self-driven and ability to work and upskill both independently and collaboratively
Excellent time-management and organisational skills, can effectively plan and prioritise to deliver even when under pressure
Desirable, but not essential:
Knowledge of Juniper, Cisco, and Meraki switching.
Knowledge of Cisco and Meraki enterprise wireless networks
Knowledge of Juniper, Cisco routing protocols and interoperability.
Knowledge of Cisco IWAN and/or Cisco SDWAN
Knowledge of working with Megaport and Equinix network fabric
Knowledge of networking in AWS. Can consider networking skills in Azure and GCP.
Knowledge of DNS design and its implementation.
