Kapinara Primary School (PS) is located along the coast in City Beach, approximately 10 kilometres from the Perth Central Business District. Kapinara PS is seeking a Network Support Officer who possesses high level contemporary knowledge and skills in the maintenance of a business unit network and cyber security risks relevant to a school, including strategies to mitigate them. Technical officer or network officer experience in a public-school setting would be highly desirable.
The successful applicant will effectively monitor and maintain the school network and provide advice and support for staff. You will liaise with Department of Education personnel and external providers to ensure the school network and online practices of all staff and students are compliant with policy and legislation and fit for purpose. You should also provide advice to the principal around the costs and benefits associated with the use and purchase of a range of school-based technologies, including digital devices and peripherals, online programs and applications.
The successful applicant will ideally have outstanding communication and organisational skills. You should have the capacity to work effectively as a positive member of a team to achieve identified outcomes, and the ability to work under pressure and manage competing demands.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Knowledge of network systems and platforms relevant to the operating environment.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills relevant to the operational maintenance of Information Technology networks.
- Organisational skills, including the ability to plan and implement data security procedures.
- Verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external clients.
- Practical experience in developing and implementing user-training procedures.
