What isn't ‘average’ about this position?
In the current employment market we are saturated by roles offering generous bonuses, high salaries, fancy onboarding opportunities, and so many more shiny, sparkly things. Anything to get you through the door. As a small business we don't have a HR department, we don't have offerings dripped in gold, and we also don't have a lot of money to throw around, but what we do have to offer is an incredibly honest, ethical and thoughtful workplace. There are no hidden clauses to trick you into choosing us. There are no specific skills in marketing or “selling” our practice, we are allied health professionals, we are therapists. Our focus is on our local community and our clinicians. We want to provide the best possible clinical outcomes. We want to develop clinicians. We want this profession to thrive, be respected and be valued in our community. We aren't looking to take over Australia, we simply want to provide quality services within our part of the world. We want to work as a team always. We want families to be a part of the team. We want to engage with local organisations and make an impact and continue to reflect positively through word of mouth referrals. We are happy to challenge the system if it means better clinical results and better quality of lives.
A little bit more about us:
LS Health Services is focused on clinical care and patient outcomes. We have a diverse, multi-disciplinary team, a variety of caseload options, a variety of working options and a variety of career options.
- Many organisations are assigning caseloads based on administrative and financial needs, we choose ethics first and have a clinical team member ethically assigning cases, with regular monitoring of overall caseloads with a clinical supervisor.
- There’s no HR budget here, we work in healthcare and we focus on providing support to the local community and building capacity to our local families. Sorry our ad isn't flashy, but it is what it is.
- Money is not our driving factor, we want to develop the next generation of high-quality clinicians, while providing outstanding services, and working within a multidisciplinary or transdisciplinary approach.
- You don’t have to just be an Occupational Therapist, we have career progression plans, opportunities and ideas to support your creative, managerial or academic sides.
- We are not run by business people or administrators, we are run by allied health practitioners and are small enough to listen to the needs and feedback of every single employee.
- You will not be chasing client payments or booking appointments during your day, you’ll be able to focus on clinical roles and clinical learning to maximise your potential, however you'll have a say over your calendar layout and bookings still. Our admin and clinical teams work closely to support each other.
- Most importantly, we will set you up for success, we are anti-burnout, pro-diversity, anti-mundane, pro-mental health and interested in doing what we do well.
Also, we are based in the far outer south-western suburbs. There is a lot of semi-rural and rural property around here. It's beautiful. It's a lovely place to live. It's a lovely place to bring up a family. If you live further away and are considering the commute, you'll be travelling against the flow of traffic for a mostly smooth drive each time. If you love horses or nature, but want to be in Brisbane still, this is the location for you.
The Role:
- As a full-time, part-time or casual Occupational Therapist, you will share space in a large practice environment and collaborate with OT’s, SP’s, Play Therapists, Psychologists, Physiotherapists and Allied Health Assistants focused on bringing the clients, families and the team together, providing bespoke care and the best outcome for an individual.
- PD and Training- Of course. Both structured and unstructured, but most importantly, always and ongoing. A PD Allowance plus continuous internal and external development from highly experienced clinical supervisors is in our DNA.
- Cars- If you want to be mobile, we have vehicles available for you. If you want to be clinic based, the majority of our work is provided in the clinic.
Salary- If you are the right person for our team, we will get you where you need to be.
Don’t settle for a job when you could have a career. We are interested in people who want to build their skills for the rest of their career and become high quality practitioners.
To be considered for this position you must hold:
- A Tertiary Qualification in Occupational Therapy
- AHPRA Registration
- A NDIS Worker Screening Card
- A Valid Driver’s Licence
