Here at Fibrecycle Pty Ltd, we are currently on the lookout for an experienced FMCG Commercial Analyst to join our finance team, who is ready and willing to provide, strategic insights and accurate and timely commercial advice to the business.
The role of NPD Technologist will deliver new product development across new and existing product ranges of pet treats, pet supplements, bird food and treats, and cat litter. The NPD Technologist will work collaboratively and cross functionally with internal and external stakeholders to bring product launches to life, meeting agreed timelines and business requirements.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience within an NPD role, working from brief through to delivery across a range of products. Experience in managing multiple timelines, ensuring deadlines are met and critical tasks are completed as agreed. Experience working with pet food or treats not essential but highly desirable.
Key duties of the role include:
- Review customer and internal NPD briefs with the team, work as directed on new product formulations, ingredient research, competitor reviews and packaging.
- Prepare for and participate in production trials for new, or existing product under-going re-development.
- Complete and distribute trial requests to production and planning team.
- Participate in and monitor trials to ensure accuracy in capturing data, settings, trial outcomes and next steps. Compile data in trial reports.
- Coordinate pre and post-trial meetings with R&D, operations and planning.
- Manage sample submission activities including submission form and preliminary specs, prepare and sends samples.
- Manage sample testing and review (pre-approval test, post-production test including chemical, micro and sensory).
- Provide product labelling information to marketing and external customers, ensuring appropriate validation of proposed claims, ensure names are accurate and all information meets the brief and applicable standards.
- Complete artwork review checklist, ensuring all departments have reviewed and make amendments as required.
- Work with external customers to validate artwork sign-off and provide artwork files to print to meet launch timeline.
- Brief suppliers for packaging requirements and die lines including primary, secondary and shipping cartons.
- Ensure compliance with internal process standards and regulatory standards to ensure safe and appropriate development of products.
- Ensure all product related claims have the required substantiation and approvals.
- Work collaboratively with QA department to ensure all products meet shelf-life testing, mandatory microbial testing and individual customer testing requirement.
- Assist with review of formulations and processes as required to manage.
