Hawk Logistics is a privately owned transport and logistics company specializing in refrigerated freight. Beginning in 2011 with one truck the business has grown rapidly continuing to provide subcontractor services to some of Australia’s largest transport companies as well as having a portfolio of direct customers.
We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager based at our Erskine Park depot to take ownership and control over running the day-to-day operations working within our New South Wales Operations Team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Align resource management (manpower and asset) strategy with business strategy across different business activities.
- Communicate the importance of achieving timeframe outcomes with efficient use of resources.
- Communicate importance of achieving transportation operation timeframe outcomes with efficient use of resources.
- Communicate key messages resulting from transport operation's data analysis to key stakeholders.
- Develop the strategic positioning of transportation operation processes within freight operations.
- Engage senior management for buy-in to implement solution identified.
- Formulate vehicle fleet management strategy across different plans.
- Manage overall transportation operations.
- Motivate the NSW operations and admin team to achieve organizational success.
- Review incident or crisis management plans to mitigate gaps.
- Payroll approval for the New South Wales Depot.
- Ensuring vehicles standards are maintained in coordination with our Fleet Department
- Managing customer relationships and being the key point of contact for our customers
- Managing the driver group ensuring they are meeting the standards of our customers and are operating safely in line with the NHVL.
Skills & Experience:
- Formal degree qualifications in Supply Chain Management or equivalent Business degree highly desirable.
- Proven track record successfully managing operations and large driver groups.
- Experience in refrigerated transport highly desirable.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work with management located in different states.
- Intermediate to advance skills in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, etc.
- Experience with a TMS (Freight 2020 or JAIX) highly desirable.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and have a sense of urgency.
