Australian Textile Mills is a medium sized company and major employer for the Wangaratta region since 1946. We are currently seeking an OHS & HR Coordinator to join our team.
The role
Reporting to the HR Manager, this is a multifaceted role that you can make your own. The team is currently implementing new and exciting initiatives and would welcome the input for employee attraction and retention and implementation of a new HR Information System.
Core responsibilities include:
- Serve as the initial HR and OHS contact.
- Assist in work health and safety planning, coordination, and reporting.
- Ensure OH&S and WHS compliance.
- Provide advice in relation to performance, WHS, rehabilitation and employee relations.
- Coordinate, report and assist with the coordination of incident reporting and workplace assessments.
- Assist with recruitment and selection processes.
- Maintain and update employee records.
QUALIFICATIONS / ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED TO UNDERTAKE THIS POSITION:
- Occupational Health & Safety and/or Human Resources qualifications or relevant experience in an OHS or HR role.
- Understanding of OHS Legislation, Regulations, Codes and Standards
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills for addressing HR and OHS matters.
- Proficiency in administrative tasks such as record-keeping, meeting coordination, ability to use MS Office, particularly MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- People skills to establish and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, team member skills and positive approach.
- Workplace Training qualifications or experience will be considered an advantage.
