About the role:
Our new Health Safety Wellbeing (OHS) Manager will play a critical role in safeguarding employee safety, health, and compliance with WHS regulations. Their primary focus will involve redefining and merging the WHS systems of East Coast Bullbars (ECB) and Cruisemaster, two Queensland businesses.
They will lead initiatives, oversee systems, conduct training sessions, and engage stakeholders to achieve WHS objectives effectively. Their proactive approach will aim to not only meet regulatory standards but also to drive continuous improvement and innovation in workplace health and safety practices, ensuring a robust safety culture within the organization.
You will work hand in hand with our existing WHS Team/s across both sites and will report into the GM of ECB.
This is a 12-month fixed term contract role.
Key responsibilities include:
- Review, rebuild and update company HSW management systems.
- Manage the administration of safety systems.
- Deliver training on system usage to staff.
- Provide monthly and annual HSW performance reports.
- Develop and implement strategies for continual improvement.
- Identify and manage WHS training needs.
- Lead the identification and management of critical risks.
- Establish risk management programs.
- Prepare for and manage site WHS audits.
- Implement robust reporting processes.
- Lead investigations into significant incidents.
About you:
- WHS Diploma, tertiary qualifications in Health and Safety, Lead Auditor certification, ICAM Investigator certification, and Return to Work Coordinator Certificate or equivalent.
- Comprehensive knowledge of OHS/WHS legislation, regulations, and codes of practice.
- Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate critical risks, including physical and psychosocial hazards.
- Extensive, demonstrated experience in operational safety management within manufacturing or similar industries.
- Experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining Health Safety Wellbeing Management Systems.
- Experience leading safety initiatives and managing teams.
- Previous experience in injury management, incident investigation, return to work plans and WorkCover procedures.
- Competency in identifying and managing WHS training needs and facilitating training programs.
- Excellent oral, written and coaching skills.
