Our client is a major wholesaler and distributor of aluminium, plastic and stainless steel piping systems to the construction and building industry.
A newly created opportunity now exists for a self-motivated, pro-active multi-site Operations Manager to join their team. This role will see you strategically managing their warehousing and logistics operations in Sydney, Melbourne and Qld, including the upcoming relocation of their 3 warehouses in Sydney’s Sutherland Shire and the consolidation and set up in their new operation in Moorebank. In addition, you will be responsible for managing the Warehouse Team Leaders and assisting them to achieve optimal operational performance in all locations, with regards to the receipt, storage, assembly, dispatch and distribution of stock.
*This role is currently located in the Sutherland area, however the business will be relocating to Moorebank by mid 2024.

- Manage warehouse personnel, assign tasks and priorities to warehouse team leaders
- Liaise with Inventory Manager regarding inventory control
- Arrange and monitor inventory cycle counts, perform regular inventory audits to identify root causes, and oversee all inventory adjustment transactions
- Implementation and management of efficient warehouse layouts and optimal pick path measures
- Co-ordinate & manage transport options, oversee delivery runs ensuring we meet predetermined schedules and client expectations
- Manage & maintain all warehouse equipment in accordance with relevant OH&S policies.
- Performance manage operations team, including regular performance reviews
- Conduct Monthly Warehouse Team Meetings to improve warehouse operations & efficiency
- Manage the rearrangement of racking/storage facilities and stock items as required to maintain an efficient workplace
- Liaise with internal Stakeholders regarding incoming Purchase Orders, outgoing Sales Orders and urgent stock requirements.
- Manage HSEQ program to ensure all policies are maintained and adhered to
- Minimum 5 years Warehouse Operations and Management experience
- Relevant Tertiary Qualifications, highly desirable
- Knowledge of storage requirements and management of warehouse methods to ensure proper storage for all inventory items to avoid loss, damage or inefficiency
- Excellent leadership and communications skills and ability to effectively manage staff performance.
- Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators
- Practical experience with warehouse management software
- Competent computer skills to efficiently perform the role
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to implement process improvements.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Reliable, trustworthy, flexible, and dependable
- Ability to undertake regular interstate travel to other sites
