The town of Warwick is perfectly situated around 130km south west of Brisbane and is known as the 'Rose and Rodeo' town ! Warwick is also known for being an incredible sporting town where the Morgan Park sporting complex plays host to events such as car racing, Polo X, and boasts a world class drag strip. The grass roots sports are a strong option for those wanting to be involved in Rugby League, Rugby Union, Soccer or world class Hockey. If you are a family moving to the area, the schooling options are all exceptional with offerings for both boarding students and day students. Our Club is medium sized with a membership of around 4,200 with over 35 staff and a gaming installation of 65 EGMs. We are excited to be able to take on someone who is a natural leader to join our team in the role of Club Operations Manager at the Club Warwick RSL.

Working directly with our CEO, you will have the opportunity to shape a dynamic culture for the venue and its team in line with strategic plans. Your input will be sought in identifying areas for development. You will be responsible for driving the performance of the venue in conjunction with the CEO, team through implementing strategies in line with the Club’s objectives and Strategic Plan. You will learn a whole new set of skills from a seasoned CEO to be able to lead an organisation if this is what you desire.

Key focus areas for the role of Operations Manager:

• Set and maintain increased levels of professionalism in the venue and hospitality standards
• Set standards, ensure induction, review staff members’ performances
• Set and maintain a positive culture for our teams in the Club
• Set and improve profitability to industry levels
• Establish management reporting that monitors profitability and business performance
• Assist with the implementation of venue improvements and venue capital improvement projects
• Assist with maximising gaming revenue and growing market share within a compliant environment

What you will bring to the role:

• Experience in delivering strong hospitality performance outcomes
• A strong understanding of the club operations, profitable and successful gaming operations, market trends, customer service standards and how to exceed them
• The ability to lead people and set high standards by example, training and systems
• The ability to engage and build relationships with our members and community.
• A professional manner and presentation

Key responsibilities:

• Hands on leadership and fostering of the team, including supervision and mentoring
• Creating and maintaining an atmosphere where customer service standards can thrive
• Driving sales to meet targets and budgets
• Controlling operational costs, including wages and the overall GP
• Compliance in both regulatory and company standards
• Participating in and contributing to the overall management of the club
