About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Operations Manager. Reporting to our Branch Manager you will preferably have direct management skills or you can demonstrate you are ready for the next step.
This role is critical to the daily functions of the business. You will be supporting the Branch Manager and work in with and supervise key staff members with daily activities and weekly and monthly planning.
Key Duties
- Cyclic maintenance knowledge in off road and on road vehicles, their parts and their functions
- Technical understanding of all things related to fabrication, manufacturing, hydraulics, pneumatics and Surface refinishing (Varied Role) however strong experience in one or across the board will be considered as there is a great support mechanism within the business.
- Heavy mobile equipment experience – advantageous
- Workforce management - Ideally
- Purchasing, inventory control – advantageous
- Site work is involved from time to time
- Engineering understanding from concept to commission - advantageous
The key team member we are looking for needs to have the following
- Safety mindset at every step
- Be able to work efficiently under sometimes tight timelines
- Demonstrated background in the Industrial Manufacturing, Mining and or Transport a key advantage
- A mechanical trade and or engineering background complimented by people and administrative skills is you or you are working towards
- Budgeting and forecasting skills
- Experience with heavy/on road vehicles, mining and general automotive knowledge is also advantageous
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- The ability to multitask and prioritise work loads
- Work well under pressure and can situational manage
- Great computer skills and phone manner
- Team player foremost who can liaise well with the Branch Manager and workforce and promote harmony at every opportunity
