Our client is a business that specialises in the design, supply, and installation of custom made high-end building products for home owners and builders in Metro Melbourne and who is seeking to hire an Operations Manager to lead the team.
This role provides an exciting opportunity to join a well-established business that prides itself on delivering products and services of the highest quality and workmanship to both professional builders and DIY renovators.
The role is well suited for a person with a building trade or technical background who is ready to step into a managerial role or a seasoned professional exploring a career transition.
As Operations Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Operations management:
- Manage daily operational activities in a manner that optimizes business efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safe work practices.
- Ensure sound management of financial and other resources.
Project delivery:
- Oversee the timely and high-quality delivery of projects.
- Work closely with team members to ensure client satisfaction.
- Efficient project management of multiple projects simultaneously.
Manage and build relationships:
- Foster strong relationships with professional builders and other industry stakeholders.
- Manage established relationships with manufacturers and suppliers.
Team leadership:
- Lead the team of ten staff by maintaining a positive and motivated team culture.
- Provide guidance and support for team members to achieve personal and team goals.
- Facilitate ongoing training and development to enhance team capabilities.
Business development and sales:
- Develop and implement effective strategies to achieve business growth objectives.
- Engage new clients by actively pursuing and securing new sales opportunities.
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following qualifications and experience:
- A building trade or project management background such as a carpenter, cabinet maker, project manager or Operations Manager in the building industry is highly desirable.
- Experience in leading and managing a team.
- Ability to build and nurture relationships.
- Experience in B2B and/or end user sales.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to plan and prioritise effectively.
