AddressAn exciting opportunity exists to work in partnership with the Northern Sydney Home Nursing Service (NSHNS) Oncology/Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Consultants to develop the expertise of nursing and allied health staff in providing care to patients requiring palliative and end of life care, coordinating, and planning care in the home setting.

Where you'll be working
The position provides Palliative Care support to patients in their homes living in the Ku-ring-gai geographical area. The office base for the position is at Macquarie Hospital, North Ryde.
What you'll be doing
The NSLHD Nursing and Midwifery Workforce will be compassionate, competent, confident, contemporary, capable and committed to leading person-centred health care.
Functioning as a Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 in the area of Palliative Care within Northern Sydney Home Nursing Service (NSHNS), providing and promoting evidence based nursing practice, relating to Palliative Care in home settings. Providing leadership and facilitating the ongoing development of nursing and allied health clinicians.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Nurse Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) with relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification or such other qualifications or relevant equivalent experience.
- Substantial and current experience in Palliative Care, using advance clinical skills in patient assessment and care planning.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, carers, and a diverse range of health care providers including those in government, non-government, residential aged care and community organisations.
