An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant - Payroll to join Service Stream in our Corporate division, based in Melbourne, Vic
About the Role
This role is responsible for providing comprehensive accounting & financial service across the Service Stream Group. With a key focus on Payroll Accounting. Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant (SFA), this position will be required to support the SFA with the management of all accounting & reporting for the Group including financial & operational analysis and governance, as well as involvement in process improvement initiatives. The role also provides ancillary accounting support to the Group's corporate accounting, group reporting and tax functions. This role involves the preparation, posting & reconciliation of general ledger journals for the Group & Corporate divisions mainly in relation to payroll. Covering employee entitlements including AL, LSL, RDO etc and various on-costs including PAYG, Super, PRT & Workers comp. The role supports the tax & risk departments in the production of the Group's indirect tax liabilities such as PRT, FBT & Workers comp.

Key Responsibilities
- Post the weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrun data into two ERP systems, IFS & Jobpac; Report any posting issues to Payroll Accounting Team Leader;
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for Payroll related GLs in IFS & Jobpac with any large or unusual balances investigated and variances cleared in a timely manner;
- Liaise and provide support to Finance teams in the business units on payroll related matters and questions;
- Prepare monthly superannuation reconciliation and upload SAFF file into clearing house facility and arrange payment accordingly;
- Manage super refunds; liaise with P&E team for new super details and arrange refund rebank in a timely manner;
- Manage SNOW tickets; answer queries from internal and external stakeholders;
- Arrange weekly & monthly novated lease payments;
- Prepare monthly third party payments reconciliations including novated leases, child support, union fees, Govt Paid Parental Leave, Portable LSL, Income Protection, Redundancy etc.
- Post payroll journals for employee transfers;
- Update overpayment tracking sheet;
- Liaise with payroll team for payroll rejections and clear payroll rejections in the payroll clearing account in a timely manner;
- Update Government Paid Parental Leave Funds and Payments tracking sheet, provide summary per month for EOM GL reconciliation
- Maintenance WorkCover Payments tracking sheet, provide summary at employee level per month for EOM GL reconciliation
- Manage novated lease refunds and email payroll team for processing, update novated lease refunds tracking sheet;
- Complete ad hoc job tasks as required;
- Assist in the completion of half year end and year end reconciliation/reporting as required;
- Assist with projects as assigned by Payroll Accounting Team Leader
About You:
- Established and strong experience in an Accounting / Finance in a medium to large company (preferably ASX listed)
- Attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously as well as within a team.
- Strong communication skills and confident in Divisional interface and have the ability to liaise with multiple Division managers
- Experience in using OneSource FBT, IFS, Chris21 & TM1/Jedox is preferable
- To be adaptable to a growing business with demanding needs
- Minimum +3 years
- Completed a Business Degree in Accounting
- CPA / CA part qualified
