The Payroll Advisor - Projects within People and Culture will be a pivotal team member, focusing on the seamless integration of payroll systems. Primarily involved in the project, the role ensures the new HCM solution integrates flawlessly with the existing payroll system, guaranteeing a high-quality solution without disrupting current payroll operations.
What you'll do
- Provide subject matter expertise throughout the project implementation lifecycle, ensuring payroll integrity
- Lead efforts in analysing, collecting, and prioritizing user requirements, translating them into functional design, processes, and use cases
- Work closely with stakeholders and product owners to understand project goals and success criteria related to payroll
- Collaborate with system specialists on system design and gap analysis, ensuring alignment with project objectives
- Contribute to the identification and management of payroll-related risks and issues, ensuring timely reporting and escalation
- Perform thorough testing, with a focus on User Acceptance Testing and Parallel Run, including documentation of test scenarios
- Support change management activities, providing input into training material and delivering knowledge sharing sessions
- Desired qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business, or HR
- 8+ years of demonstrated experience in a complex payroll/project environment within a mid to large organization
- Demonstrated ability to interpret complex payroll and regulatory requirements and translate them into system requirements
- Operational experience and technical skills across the full payroll spectrum, including Single Touch Payroll, taxation, payroll tax, workers compensation, income protection, long service leave, and redundancy
- Ability to analyse and understand data, providing data-driven insights
- Superior organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
- Proven ability to work autonomously, proactively identifying tasks and resolving or escalating as needed, leveraging available materials and resources.
