The Payroll and Finance Officer will be responsible for providing accurate and timely processing of company Payroll and ensuring the highest standard of service. The Payroll and Finance Officer will also be responsible for the day-to-day Accounts Payable function, including processing invoices received for payment and for undertaking the payment of all creditors in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner.

What you will be doing....

  • End to end processing of company payrolls (monthly).
  • Proficiency in application of current employment laws including payroll tax, superannuation, PAYG contracts to individual’s payroll.
  • Collecting, calculating, and keeping records in Payroll system.
  • Liaising with staff and management on payroll related queries.
  • Complying with relevant legislation and regulations (e.g. Superannuation guarantee, Australian Taxation Office, National Employment Standards, STP reporting).
  • Preparation and reconciliation of End of Month statutory payments; Payroll Tax, Superannuation.
  • Timely and accurately completing accounting entries (accounts payable, expense claims, payments).
  • Preparation and reconciliation of financial records and information.

  • Ability to use sound problem solving techniques to provide reliable and maintainable solutions to a variety of problems.

Do you have...

  • Experience with end-to-end accounts payable and payroll (minimum 3 years).
  • Supplier reconciliation experience.
  • Experience with foreign currency conversions and payments.
  • Experience within the Defence or Project related industries (desirable).
  • Experience in SME organisation (desirable).

Have you...

  • A Cert IV Business Administration.
  • Formal Payroll Certification
  • Proficiency in application of GST laws
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, Adobe PDF, relational databases, and ERP systems (preferably IFS); and
  • Ability to interpret and apply employment contracts to individual’s payroll.
