My Client is a leading Not- for-profit organisation. They are on the lookout for a Payroll Consultant on a permanent, full time basis.
About the role:
Provide administration duties to support the Company NSW payroll function, People team and the Finance team.
The key responsibilities will include:
- Be first point of contact for payroll enquiries;
- Establish new employee records in PayGlobal on receipt of appropriate documentation and maintain employee files;
- Update contract variations in PayGlobal as required;
- Ensure that all queries are resolved within 72 hours; complex queries may take more time to resolve (this includes emails, phone calls and service desk);
- Process the payroll in an accurate and timely manner to meet the payroll deadlines, or as required by the Payroll Manager;
- Liaise with external providers regarding salary packaging and superannuation;
- Ensure all payroll related administration is completed in a timely manner;
- Maintain records on termination;
- Generate fortnightly and monthly reports as required;
- Complete statistical reports for external agencies as required, e.g. Remuneration reports, WGEA reports, NDS workforce reports, ABS reports etc;
- Liaise with third party agencies regarding pay matters such as salary, PAYG and employment details e.g. Financial institutions, ATO, Centrelink, superannuation funds etc;
- Ensure regular maintenance and accuracy of PayGlobal to reflect business/operational changes.
- Assist external auditors with year-end audit process;
- Calculate termination payments including redundancy payments, settlements, voluntarily and involuntarily terminations;
- Complete Leave reconciliations including long service calculation as and when required;
- Assist with performance development review process, including back pay calculations;
- Assist with payroll improvement processes to ensure the integrity and service levels are maintained;
- Maintain and update First Aid & CPR certificates in PayGlobal;
- Provide information to third parties relating to workers compensation, calculate top ups and process payments accordingly in PayGlobal;
- Maintenance of payroll files and records, including regular e-filing of correspondence and forms.
- Assist with month end process;
- Assist with year-end payroll compliance including preparation of Income Statements and related reconciliations;
- Ensure knowledge of payroll and taxation legislation is up to date;
- Assist with the implementation of new systems that may affect the PayGlobal System;
- Maintain strict confidences on matters pertaining to employee's pays, conditions and information;
- Maintain a good understanding of all Industrial Instruments; and
- Ability to apply Award interpretation where required.
The ideal Candidate:
- 3-5 years payroll experience;
- Good understanding of the awards, payroll related legislatives and their applications;
- Preferred experience with PayGlobal system but has ability to work with any payroll related system;
- Excel experience and can perform complex calculations
- Great customer service skills;
- Ability to work within a team environment and with different departments;
- Is self motivated and has a "can do" attitude;
- Deadline and process orientated; and
- Understands and maintains confidentiality of data.
