The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for coordinating Stadiums Queensland's fortnightly payroll function, including processing, reporting, superannuation, end of month/quarter and end of year processes. The position is responsible for assisting with associated human resources matters and providing specialist payroll advice to SQ leaders and employees. The position is responsible for ensuring payroll related policies and procedures are complied with across the organisation.
The Payroll Coordinator position reports to the Payroll Supervisor. The Payroll Coordinator position works closely with the other members of the HR Team, Corporate Office and Venue teams, in the coordination of the Payroll Process.
On a day to day basis the Payroll Officer has a functional reporting relationship to the Payroll Coordinator.
Key Accountabilities:
• Coordinate and process the end to end fortnightly payroll for all SQ employees, partnering with key stakeholders to deliver an efficient and timely payroll
• Ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and in accordance with legislation, employment contracts, certified agreements, awards and internal policies and procedures
• Update and maintain data in the HRIS (Aurion) and Time and Attendance (RITEQ) systems, identify process improvement opportunities through the use of these systems
• Coordinate end of month and end of quarter/end of year processes in collaboration with the Payroll Officer
• Ensure all Australian Taxation Office (ATO), Superannuation Guarantee (SG) and Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting obligations are met
• Provide high level communication and customer service, supporting SQ leaders and employees within the payroll systems and processes
• Resolve payroll related issues and provide sound advice and assistance to staff, having regard to SQ's industrial instruments and policies
• Coordinate and contribute to project work, including payroll system upgrades to maintain an effective HRIS system across SQ
• Assist in development, implementation and review of payroll policies and procedures ensuring that they comply with all relevant legislation
• Ensure all work is undertaken in accordance with SQ's policies and procedures, particularly in the areas of workplace health and safety, security, equal employment opportunity, workplace harassment, bullying and discrimination
Mandatory Qualification and/or Experience:
• Demonstrated experience in coordinating an end to end payroll process including reporting, reconciling and quality control
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a payroll processing position.
