Salary: $72,624 - $80,693 p.a. + 11% superannuation contribution

Apunipima Cape York Health Council is a community controlled Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander health service, which provides culturally appropriate, family centred, primary health care services to the communities and people of Cape York.
About the Opportunity
The Payroll Officer is responsible for coordinating all aspects of fortnightly payroll processing and reporting, including support of the accounts receivable and general financial functions, as required, as a member of the Finance Team.
Pre-employment screening for vaccination against Vaccine Preventable Diseases and an Australian Federal Police Check will be conducted for the successful applicant.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Certificate in Payroll or Financial Administration, is not essential but highly desirable
- Minimum of 3 years undertaking payroll processing responsibilities in a medium to large organisation
- Experience in processing large volumes of work while meeting strict deadlines and maintaining a high level of accuracy, confidentiality and accountability
- Experience in electronic payroll and timekeeping systems and the Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to handle confidential information, work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Strong mathematical skills and understanding of electronic timekeeping data
- Understanding of the historical and contemporary issues that impact on Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people and their communities, particularly in Cape York
- Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people in accordance with community protocols and customs
- Current Blue Card positive notice or exemption, or willing and able to obtain prior to commencement
