Location: Cairns

Contract: Part-Time

About the Role:

The Payroll Officer at Enabling Pathways Community will be responsible for ensuring the precise and punctual processing of payroll, while upholding compliance with pertinent regulations. You'll play a crucial role in supporting the Organisation's financial operations, with the primary objective of managing payroll processes efficiently. By maintaining accuracy and timeliness, you'll safeguard the company's financial integrity and contribute to achieving our broader business objectives.

As a Payroll Officer, your role will include:

  • Complete weekly payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees.
  • Ensure all deductions, including leave and expense reimbursements, are accounted for in the weekly pay run
  • Handle all aspects of employee leave, entitlements, and deductions.
  • Manage Superannuation and Qleave obligations, ensuring timely contributions and compliance.
  • Maintain organised and up-to-date payroll records.
  • Ensure weekly payslips are distributed, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Prepare and submit payroll tax returns and other statutory filings.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Utilise payroll software to streamline and enhance payroll processing.
  • Stay abreast of changes in awards, regulations, and legislation impacting payroll, promptly communicating updates and providing training to relevant managers and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Business Supports in the creation of Payroll policies and training as needed.
  • Support in the yearly reviewal of Payroll Policies.
  • Provide detailed monthly payroll reports to management as required.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant payroll regulations and standards.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (or working towards) desirable
  • Current Queensland Blue Card
  • Current Yellow Card
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Open Driver Licence
  • Clean Police Check dated within 6 months
  • Proof of Citizenship or VISA if applicable
  • Previous experience with Employment Hero, Xero, Budgetly, Visual Care and Microsoft Office is desirable.
