About the Role:
Are you detail-oriented, analytical, and passionate about meeting deadlines? Our company is seeking a dedicated Payroll Officer to join our payroll team. As a vital member of our team, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and timely payment of employees.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Process payroll accurately and timely for all employees
- Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures;
- Provide required reporting withing requested timeframes
- Verify timekeeping records and consult employees/supervisors about any discrepancies.
- Address employee queries regarding payroll matters
- Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure accurate financial records
- Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations related to payroll and ensure compliance
Experience
- Proven work experience as a Payroll Officer or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of payroll systems, including proficiency in using payroll software
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
- Competent in excel – lookups and Pivots medium to expert level
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Certification in Payroll (desired but not mandatory)
- Experience in the Construction Industry and dealing!
- Experience with weekly, fortnightly and monthly cycles.
- Experience with NZ payroll would also be beneficial.
