The Role
Automic Group are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive individual with stand-alone payroll experience to join our Internal Finance team. As a Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with legislation, processing payroll changes, resolving discrepancies, and managing employee records.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll processes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities
- Comply with relevant awards and legislation for payroll processing
- Preparation and timely delivery of pay slips and annual payment summaries
- Process new employee contracts, changes, promotions, transfers, and terminations
- Manage Superannuation Choice funds and leave entitlements for employees
- Resolve payroll issues and discrepancies, and maintain employee records
- Ensure accurate recording of bills, employee expense reimbursements, and accounts payable functions
- Work closely with HR and Finance departments on payroll and financial matters
- Assist with month-end reporting
Demonstrated Capabilities
- Experience in medium-sized payroll (100+ employees)
- Ability to independently run payroll processes end-to-end
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience with payroll system go-live and process mapping projects
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Proficiency in NetSuite and ELMO advantageous
