Remuneration: $81,144.33 - $87,294.84 (super inclusive) (pro-rata)

About The Role:
The Payroll Officer is responsible for the delivery of timely and accurate payroll across Bendigo Kangan Institute (BKI) including reporting of payroll and its related regulatory requirements. Critical to the success of this role is the knowledge and ability to correctly interpret relevant awards, agreements and contracts, and the knowledge to accurately process of variations to pays, salaries and associated employee conditions and benefits, as well as providing consulting support to managers and staff regarding employee conditions and entitlements.
We are excited about you because you have:

  • Relevant Degree in a financial field and experience; or lesser formal qualifications with extensive experience with expertise in payroll functions.
  • Payroll systems experience with CHRIS21, Empower or similar system.
  • A minimum of three years' experience working in a similar role
  • Ability to demonstrate experience executing the following tasks:
  • Processing fortnightly payroll in accordance with BKI policies, legislative requirements and award agreements where applicable.
  • Ensuring all required payments are actioned timely and accurately. This includes (and not limited to) Superannuation Clearing house, Payroll Tax submissions, Novated Vehicle Leases and any other employee related matters, including annual leave accruals and utilisation.
  • Providing excellent level of service to employees, ensuring employee enquiries are addressed timely and accurately.
  • Managing Payroll inbox and responding to queries promptly.
  • Effective judgement and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a wider team environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience liaising and building strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills to ensure processes and procedures are followed in line with compliance
