The opportunity
This is an opportunity for an experienced Pega Application Support Lead to support QBE Pega applications team ensuring the stability of the applications 24 x 7 involving queue management, support on escalations, resolving incidents and providing technical support. Effectively communicate and share documentation with businesses on issue diagnoses, root causes, status and resolution timelines
You will manage a team of 8 to 10 Application Support Analysts through the operational maintenance of our products and provides technical support and advice to end users in an ITIL based environment. Manage and mentor the team, leading and coaching them towards reaching key objectives.
You other responsibilities include
- Manage the given suite of applications within the IT Application Portfolio in the key Application Services areas of Application Support
- Maintain an effective reporting regime for the given suite of applications within the IT Application Portfolio that provides relevant information on the individual applications within the given portfolio as a whole
- Provide expert consultancy and support in the development of applications and techniques to support business needs, especially in the event of a major incident.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure the Application Services team deliver a consistent level of service.
- Prepare accurate and timely information relating to the given suite of applications within the IT Application Portfolio for input to stakeholders
You will have hands on development on client server and n-tier systems with broad understanding of software development life cycle processes. Ability to manage, maintain report and govern the suite of applications within the IT Applications Porfolios at a national and global level. Proven experience in managing continuous improvements, updating existing methodologies and development processes. You will have analytical mindset team with strong program management skills and leadership qualities where you are able to problem solve and prioritise challenges, influence and manage multiple stakeholders’ expectations.
You will have:
- Experience in raising SR's with the Pega product support team and being able to close out product issues in time
- Experience in implementing Pega Security Model. Experience in implementing Authentication & Authorization patterns in Pega
- Knowledge on Web Services Architecture (XML, SOAP, WSDL, XSD, etc..), MQ series
- Strong understanding of Pega Database design and experience in issue triage and root cause analysis by going through the Pega logs
- Understand the PRPC architecture and experience in PRPC version 8.x will be preferred.
