About the Role
Enrich the culture and liveability of the Mornington Peninsula in this exciting role. We are seeking an innovative, experienced event professional to join the talented Destinations, Recreation and Community Connection team to help make the peninsula a significant event destination. The primary purpose of the Peninsula Events Officer is to support the development, delivery, and evaluation of Shire’s program of internal, community and commercial festivals and events.
Reporting to the Coordinator Peninsula Events the core responsibilities include:
- With key stakeholders, deliver an annual calendar of events which meet Council and Corporate plan objectives and seek to meet local tourism and economic development goals.
- Collaborate with internal departments to deliver both internal facing and community focused events.
- With the communications team, develop creative promotional campaigns which target key audiences identified in the event planning stage.
- Maintain positive working relations with staff, members of the general public and key stakeholders.
- Ensure the implementation of safety and risk management systems across all festival and events activities.
About You
- Experience successfully working with teams to deliver a range of events, including corporate, community and/or commercial events.
- Experience working with contractors, staff, and performers at-site, ensuring that events run smoothly and safely.
- Understanding of the safety requirements critical to successful event delivery
- Drive and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Collaborative and team focused.
