What you'll be doing:

  • This position will provide informed advice and technical expertise to employees and leaders in their assigned directorates on a wide range of People and Culture matters including resolution of workplace issues and grievances, performance management, case management, Enterprise Agreement guidance, data analytics, return to work and policy reviews.
  • The P&C Advisor will also work with the other P&C Core team members, P&C Advisors and P&C Administration, in ensuring all aspects of the employee life cycle are processed efficiently, confidentiality and with a customer-centric focus.
  • Coordination of the management of employee maintenance, casual conversion, and position changes.
  • Provision of general human resources advice and guidance to Council leaders and employees, requiring interpretation of Council's Enterprise Agreement.
  • Ensuring accuracy of relevant information on Human Resources Information System (CHRIS21) is managed and maintained.
  • Provide P&C representation on interview panels.
  • Monitor the HR inbox on a daily basis and ensure that work is completed within the agreed service level agreement and services standards.
  • Work alongside the P&C Business Partner to meet the organisation's requirements for P&C policy and process advice.
  • The P&C Advisor will also work with the other P&C Core team members, P&C Advisors and P&C Administration, in ensuring all aspects of the employee life cycle are processed efficiently, confidentiality and with a customer-centric focus.

The skills and experience you'll bring to the role:

  • An understanding of and commitment to the principles of contemporary Human Resource Management.
  • Ability to interpret and follow guidelines, policies, procedures, awards and enterprise agreements and relevant legislation.
  • Ability to manage, plan, organise and priorities own workload and timelines to achieve set objectives within specified timeframes.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills including the ability to prepare and provide high quality, accurate information, documentation, and reports, and ensure the timely distribution of documentation, information and reports as required.
  • Good interpersonal skills with confidence and ability to liaise with and persuade a range of stakeholders.

Required Certifications & Qualifications:

  • Human Resource Management (or other relevant) qualification and /or previous experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience in working in a dynamic, high performing Human Resources environment.
